Thank you very much for your invitation to Sweden. It is an honor for me to judge your beautiful breed at your MAS SPECIAL 2026.
My name is Petra Bartz, I am 64 years old and I live with my husband and our Shetland Sheepdogs in Berwangen, a small village near Heilbronn, Germany
My love for this breed started in 1972 during my childhood with the Sheltie male „Bill von Haus Elwei“ in my parents‘ house.
Since 1999 I have been breeding Shetland Sheepdogs under the FCI kennel name „Berwangen, von“.
2010 I became an FCI special breed judge for Shetland Sheepdogs in 2013 I added the Australian Shepherd, and in 2019, after the official recognition of the MAS and the admission of the breed in the CASD under the VDH I became a spezial breed judge for Miniature American Shepherd, too. Since the foundation of the CASD in 2004 I am working as a breeding supervisor so I can say I’m familiar with the MAS. A friend is breeding this wonderful dogs and allows me to share her knowledge and experiences.
Now I’m retired and enjoving time with our 3 Shetland Sheepdogs. I’m travelling a lot with our motorhome often connected with shows and litter inspections but all without time pressure!
I love nature, following the motto: „If the path is beautiful, don’t ask where it leads“.
